FMT - Bersih condemns attack on don

PETALING JAYA: Bersih 2.0 (Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections) has condemned former Inspector-General of Police Rahim Noor for linking the rise of human rights to communism.

In a statement today, it also criticised the recent suspension and investigation of Professor Abdul Aziz Bari, a law lecturer with the International Islamic University Malaysia (UIA), for his statement in relation to a royal decree.

“Bersih 2.0, in full support of the freedom of expression, is disappointed to note recent concerted reactions made by the authorities and institutions against freedom of expression.”
