FMT - Proposed pay cut for PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition MP Tian Chua has proposed a one-month pay cut for Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak due to the latter’s less than satisfactory performance as the chief executive of the state.

This proposal comes in the form of a motion – to be tabled in parliament – while debating the Supply Bill 2012.

Unlike ordinary emergency motions which are usually rejected by the house Speaker, this motion, filed under Standing Order 66(9) in debating the Supply Bill at the Committee level, cannot be rejected and will have to be debated.
